Offenes Studio: Alice Chauchat (berlin)

Mit dem „Offenen Studio“ laden wir Sie als Zuschauer herzlich ein, den Künstlern von "Tanzplan Potsdam: Artists in Residence" zu begegnen, Proben und Showings anzusehen und die vielseitigen Arbeitsprozesse zeitgenössischer Choreographen kennenzulernen. Der Eintritt ist frei.

The project COLLECTIVE SENSATIONS (Praticable) is based on a practice in which imagination (= fantasy) and sensation (= empiric proof of reality) don’t differ anymore; dancers move in order to sense what they imagine, but they also imagine a sensation which makes them move. The bodies involved in such an activity don’t resemble what they are imagining or sensing; the imaginary of each performer is not illustrated, but is materialized in intensities; the movements of the dancers are textural rather than formal. The moving body doesn’t resemble the imaginary body, yet it does produce an image which can be deciphered as the symptom of what is being imagined. The image of this imaginary body is not shared as a complete thing, but only in fragments and through the use of language.

The point is to maintain a distinction and thus a friction between individual and group, to make their relations perceivable; the structure is shared, but its experience is individual to each participant.
